It's simple: kindness.
A Human Being Kind is a project started by someone who recognizes time is finite. It is our most precious asset, whether we realize it or not. When we choose to spend our time in public places, we choose to spend it in the company of strangers. Maybe we’re with friends sharing lunch, or maybe we’re alone being creative. The truth is we’re never really alone, EVER.
Sometimes knowing you’re not alone can make all the difference. In this fast-paced world where negative energy can quickly engulf us, receiving a note of kindness from a stranger could be the one thing that makes someone’s day better. Maybe it’s a simple message someone needs at that very moment.

This is not a dating site, a social, or a religious site. It’s a site where people can be kind to one another with no strings attached. What matters is simple kindness. If you've made it this far, chances are you received an anonymous note from a stranger; someone who noticed you and appreciated their time with you. Embrace it, and if so inclined, share it with the World!

It was a dark day in 2017. He was in total despair, caught within the filthy clutches of deep depression. He had been spending more and more time in his car, parked in the back corners of various lots. He sat in the driver's seat and cried. He had been trying to navigate too much in and throughout his life, spending the last three decades carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. An abundance of self-help options hadn't been enough, and his perpetual simmer of anxiety, depression, and loneliness had turned to a boil, and his kettle was now overflowing.
He began to convince himself the world would be better off without him. At the very least, the horrible, debilitating darkness could end.
One day, he finally realized he needed to be in the presence of other people. He went to a public place and sat down. He stayed in his seat and timidly looked up every few seconds to glance at the distant people passing by. In a split second, he made eye contact with an elderly man. The man smiled at him and gave a subtle wave. He was a total stranger. Neither one of them knew or recognized the other. At that moment, his eyes cleared, the tightness in his chest loosened, and the aloneness subsided. A small, but mighty rush of peace came over him.
That stranger had no idea how much his kind eyes and quick wave had helped at that very moment. They never exchanged words, and as fast as that elderly man had come into his life, just like that, he was gone.
He often regrets not being able to tell him how much his random act had meant; what a HUGE difference that small expression of kindness had made in that brief moment in time.
We can never know what each person in the room is dealing with outside of the places we are familiar with. Maybe they have bigger struggles than we could ever realize as they walk among us, smiling and saying, "I'm fine." Maybe a simple note of kindness from a stranger could make all the difference to their day, or maybe even their life.
This project is meant to highlight and spread simple kindness.
Kindness may only seem
hard to get.
It’s easy to give.
It’s free,
and it's GOOD.
